Large Insurance Company Engages with Redesign

August 15, 2019 RRD, RR Donnelley

CHALLENGE

As part of an outsourcing project, our client wanted to redesign policy packages to improve readability and support their new brand. They were also looking to improve customer service with automated processes that sped fulfillment of policyholder documents – all while ensuring accuracy throughout the process.

SOLUTION

RRD recommended a strategic approach including a full redesign of policy documents, an automated process for creating customized individual policies, presenting online viewing options for agents and customer service reps, and complete outsourcing of all previous in-house policy printing.

RESULTS

15% cost savings in operating budget

Automated redesign of policies replaced manual tasks

$100,000 in component and postage cost savings

$1.2 million in annual print savings

Our client realized a 15% cost savings in their operating budget with the closure of their in-house print center. Automated redesign of their policies replaced manual tasks and facilitated house holding to agents, delivering $100,000 in component and postage cost savings. In addition to dramatically reducing turnaround times, we also achieved over $1.2 million in annual print savings by moving agents from print to PDF delivery.
