Thinking beyond print helps an MCO client manage costs and execute EOBs
This Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) provides employer health benefits plans, dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, and more to its 700,000+ members in the Northeast. As a not-for-profit organization, they’re particularly aggressive about controlling costs. Their most pressing needs involved:
- Executing composition programming for 80 different EOB versions
- Lowering their archive costs
The relationship with an existing outsource provider was deteriorating, and they were seeking solutions elsewhere. RRD had been managing the MCO’s Medicare Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) and geo-coded directory mailings. With a solid relationship in place, they put RRD to the test in solving their EOB and archiving problems, too.
This client had regarded RRD Healthcare Solutions as a print solutions provider. Ultimately, they also received support from a comprehensive suite of non-print solutions. Lowering the organization’s archive costs involved RRD’s feature-rich RRDCare platform solution.
Within two years, RRD’s scope expanded. Further services included additional composition programming for summary EOBs, digital presentment, and electronic notifications. Additionally, RRD regularly provides valuable insights on archiving their ANOC/EOC mailings as well as welcome wits.
RRD’s recommendations saved the client $100,000 a month by:
- Optimizing existing print capacities
- Reducing archival fees and labor
- Trimming integration and implementation times for changes to EOBs and denial letters
RRD Healthcare Solutions continues to help this MCO manage roughly 100 EOB and denial letters, 900,000 monthly impressions, and more than 90 million archive items.
